PERMANET was featured at the ETP SMR Pitching Event 2026, organised by the European Technology Platform on Sustainable Mineral Resources (ETP SMR) on 15 January 2026. The online event brought together stakeholders from across Europe and partner countries to strengthen collaboration in raw materials research and innovation and to foster new partnerships across the ecosystem.
The pitching event focused on three key objectives:
- developing international partnerships;
- exploring upcoming EU funding opportunities under Horizon Europe 2026–2027;
- reinforcing collaboration between academia and industry.
These objectives align closely with PERMANET’s mission to support innovation and industrial development across the European rare earth permanent magnet value chain.
During the session, Laura Quijano (Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster – ISMC) presented the PERMANET project, highlighting its vision to establish collaborative hubs that accelerate industrial impact in rare earth magnet extraction and processing. The presentation showcased how PERMANET contributes to strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy in critical raw materials by promoting cooperation across industry, research organisations, and innovation ecosystems.
The event also featured contributions from experts across the raw materials sector, covering topics such as hydrometallurgical solutions for rare earth element recovery, national critical raw materials programmes, and sustainable mineral production.
PERMANET’s participation in the ETP SMR Pitching Event provided a valuable opportunity to increase visibility within the European raw materials community, connect with potential collaborators, and position the project within upcoming funding and innovation initiatives in the sector.
By engaging in platforms such as the ETP SMR Pitching Event, PERMANET continues to strengthen its role in building a resilient and sustainable European ecosystem for rare earth permanent magnets.
